This compact cordless disc cutter takes 125mm diameter discs to enable cutting of hard materials such as ceramic tiles, concrete flagstones and natural stone, up to a maximum thickness of 40mm. As standard it comes with dust extraction guard to connect to your M or H Class dust extraction system. If you have a Makita AWS compatible dust extractor, this is fully compatible, allowing dust extraction to begin as soon as you start using the disc cutter. You can also choose the wet cutting kit which adds a metal blade guard with water bottle and hose. This gives you the ability to use the cutter without the need for a dust extractor while still remaining dust-free, and you can use either the water bottle, or an external water supply.

The attached diamond cutting disc is spun up to 8,800 rpm thanks to the high performance brushless DC motor. This is supported by ADT or Automatic Torque Drive which constantly monitors the load on the blade and dynamically adjusts power to maintain a constant speed. The DCC500 has a bright LED work light, which also acts as the ADT indicator, allowing you to ease-off on the cut if you want longer battery life. Another optional extra, available in the dropdown list or the related products, is the guide rail adaptor. This makes it possible to use Makita guide rails with the cutter, ideal for getting perfectly straight cuts in tiles for example. You can also opt to include batteries, and expect to get approximately 800mm of 30mm thick cutting per Amp-hour of battery capacity, and much more capacity when cutting thin materials like tiles.
